Our Mission
Xochitla Micro Gardens’ mission is to elevate your life by building high-quality micro gardens built to enhance your overall well-being. Our goal is that our gardens provide you nutrient-dense food, invaluable habits of self-sufficiency, and a resilient mindset that yields continual physical and mental health benefits. To accomplish our mission, we will educate and equip you with the foundational knowledge and materials to grow your own home garden and invest in your future.
Our Story
Xochitla sprang from the desire to promote growth and access to nutrient-dense foods and a love for community and culture.
While Xochitla Micro Gardens was founded in Houston, Texas, its roots can be traced back to the rich and resourceful people of Mexico. Inspired by the culture of self-sustainability of his relatives, both past and present, CEO and Founder Josué seeks to recreate the same systems of self-sufficiency and community in his hometown of Houston, Texas. He imagines a world where organic produce nourishes the body, while daily gardening habits of resilency strengthen the mind. He imagines a world where everyone understands and enriches their roots so that they can continue to grow anything they desire in their garden of life.
Thus, Xochitla Micro Gardens is aptly named after the Nahuatl (naa·waa·tl) word for “garden:” a homage to the ancestors who created bountiful gardens of life where there was seemingly none.
Our company seeks to create a community-centered, self-sufficient network of community growers: a xochitla (sō-cheel-a).
Our Product
Xochitla Micro Gardens (sō-cheel-a) manufactures high-quality micro gardens as a means to harmonize humanity and nature. We cultivate our micro gardens with rich soil, long-lasting raised beds, and the generational growing knowledge of ancestral agriculturalists. Our micro gardens are built to launch your garden in good hands while fostering a culture of growing that promotes healthier lifestyle choices, encourages self-sustainability, and builds a resilient mindset in the face of an ever-changing world.
